SolarWinds is seeking a data-driven, customer-focused, and energetic individual for a Director, Product Management role, focused on our IT security services product line. The ideal candidate is someone who is knowledgeable in IT security products and possesses both the ability to think strategically as well as lead a cross-functional team to deliver results supporting SolarWinds business objectives.


  • Health of Business (HOB) responsibility for a $30M+ security product line within the SolarWinds MSP portfolio, including responsibility for top line revenue, and budgetary cost/benefit analysis of R&D investments
  • Responsible for defining and communicating the long-range vision and roadmap for the security product line that is aligned with SolarWinds MSP value proposition
  • Supports and helps prioritize indirect channel opportunities and go-to-market activities; ensures security product line offerings are developed to work seamlessly with SolarWinds remote monitoring and management platform
  • Researches and drives business cases for entry into emerging markets
  • Ensures sales and finance methods exist that allow for easy cross-selling and bundling of security product line services along with other SolarWinds MSP offerings
  • Assumes primary leadership for team that functions as a tightly integrated, accountable, and customer-focused cross-functional unit
  • Represents the product line offerings in periodic business reviews with SolarWinds MSP executive leadership team
  • Works with the Director, Ecosystem Strategy on the management of key corporate and business development relationships to drive value from these partnerships
  • Acts as a key stakeholder in all buy versus build decisions for the security product line



  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or MS a plus
  • 10 + years’ experience with strong examples of demonstrated leadership, organizational agility, strategic/analytical thinking, collaboration, leading through influence/persuasion, project management, problem solving, interpersonal dynamics and facilitation  
  • Lead cross-functional teams by driving towards shared goals/outcomes
  • Ability to influence outcomes by aligning teams toward a common vision
  • Detailed focus on the customer – delivering high-quality, innovative, and targeted offerings that meet market demands
  • Use data to drive decision-making, ability to prioritize resource allocation to maximize speed and execution
  • Strong accountability, drive towards outcome-oriented goals/metrics individually and in leading a team
