Papertrail is looking for the Principal Product Manager   who will drive aggressive product growth in our SaaS log management solution . You will define and execute on a product  plan based on strategic market analysis, competitive research, and   roadmap  .

The successful candidate will have a proven track record understanding dynamic markets, making plans that generate results, and working with the leadership team to align execution to market opportunity.

SolarWinds emphasizes strong growth and profitability; therefore, the ideal candidate must be proficient in making trade off decisions that maximize growth and return on investment. This leadership position requires a blend of technical knowledge, business acumen, and people skills.




You are truly the General Manager for your product. This means it's up to you to define a successful strategy and product roadmap, to work with Engineering and others to execute on that strategy. You are also responsible for evangelizing your products, defining roadmaps, working with Engineering on breaking down user stories, delivering webinars, conducting analyst briefings, and enabling sales.

  • Drive product vision, strategy, and roadmap for SolarWinds Papertrail product.
  • Execute product strategy and implementation by working closely with the distributed engineering team.
  • Deliver delightful user experiences and solutions
  • Agile product delivery through feature definition and releases, with an emphasis on rapid time to market.
  • Be a product evangelist with customers, prospects, analysts, partners, and employee


  • 5+ years software product management experience with a focus on SaaS models and subscription businesses.
  • Experience developing, deploying or managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, or delivering cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience in working with distributed engineering team in agile development
  • Experience with open-source technologies
  • Experience driving great user experiences that solve critical customer problems
  • Solid communicator across a span of technical and business stakeholders.
