  • Overview

    The assistant media buyer will support SolarWinds MSP’s demand generation team in the strategy, purchasing & execution of media programs targeting managed service professionals. They will combine creative thinking with factual analysis to develop appropriate strategies to ensure that campaigns reach their target audiences as effectively as possible. Deep knowledge of media and communication platforms to identify the most appropriate mediums for building awareness and demand is key to this position.

    The ideal candidate for this role is someone with very strong project management, organization, analytical and communication skills who can take high-level direction from internal stakeholders, create marketing strategy, and then reach out to vendors and partners to identify and execute the best possible media tactics for SolarWinds.

    Responsibilities

    • Works collaboratively and effectively with internal stakeholders to understand the core business and marketing objectives.
    • Undertakes research on media outlets, best forms of media to reach marketing objectives
    • Identifies target audiences and analyzing their characteristics, behavior and media habits.
    • Plans and implements interactive media plans to meet the marketing teams’ strategic goals.
    • Oversees all media purchases for the company including but not limited to digital and traditional variations.
    • Oversee the program’s strategies, schedules, costs, and ROI including presentations/reporting including audience characteristics, behavior, and media habits.
    • Continually analyze performance of campaigns and modify approach to optimize results and maximize lead flow.
    • Builds a network of digital media contacts to utilize as information and research resources for the marketing teams.
    • Negotiates with interactive properties to ensure the most cost-effective buys and most efficient placements.
    • Researches and compiles statistics on reach, clicks, cost-per-impression, cost-per-click, click-through-rate, cost-per-acquisition, etc. for internal best practices and guidance for marketing
    • Establishes internal time tables for materials and processes for on-time delivery.
    • Makes timely placement of all media according to schedules.
    • Approves all media invoices and forwards to accounting for payment. Reviews metrics weekly to ensure media dollars are optimally spent.
    • Performs various duties as assigned to further awareness and demand creation objectives.
    • Help media buyers and planners develop, execute and monitor media plans
    • Assist demand generation in coordinating travel, submitting expense reports and related tasks

    Qualifications

    • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree (media, marketing, communications, or business)
    • 2-4 years of media planning and buying, agency or similar digital media work experience
    • Planning and exexcution experience across display (banner ads) and/or paid social (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and similar networks).
    • Strong comfort level with analyzing and optimizing campaigns
    • Ability to manage multiple vendors and prioritize product promotions on an ongoing basis
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Strong analytical skills with an orientation for results.

    Preferences:

    • Experience with budget fluctuations, ROI analysis, and data-driven recommendations
    • Familiarity with Google Analytics
    • Experience in the B2B software space, specifically in multi-channel marketing
    • Ability to manage a flexible budget and track spend by partner & campaign
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and display strong initiative
    • Ability and willingness to think strategically and act/implement very tactically
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines and goals.
    • Effective client management skills with a strong customer focus (internal or external)
    • Ability to work with a wide range of people at all decision-making levels
    • Excellent planning and organization discipline
    • Proven track record of helping growth companies drive exposure and generate demand for their solutions
