    SolarWinds of Herndon and our Federal team is looking for a Federal Sales Development Representative (SDR) . If you are driven and motivated and are looking for a career in Inside Sales, apply now to join our growing federal team.


    • Cultivate the pipeline by calling on inbound federal marketing leads from webinars, tradeshows, whitepapers, the website, and other marketing activities as assigned
    • Drive registrations for federal events such as Tech Days, networking receptions, and webinars through proactive outreach
    • Appropriately qualify all assigned inbound federal leads and establish an action plan for next steps
    • Develop and accomplish a lead qualification/generation plan that meets or exceeds monthly and quarterly lead pass quota targets
    • Research and prospect to make outbound cold calls
    • Responsible for assisting with answering and evaluating prospective customer calls from SolarWinds federal inbound phone lines
    • “Focus on customer” by understanding their industry, business and challenges
    • Understand and articulate the breadth of SolarWinds' product portfolio
    • Participate in entry level sales program training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes
    • Capture accurate and complete information in Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
    • Cooperate with marketing and sales management to determine strategic approaches for sales
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • 1 or more years business experience, prefer results-oriented or inside sales environment role
    • Passion for selling (IT industry or federal background preferred)
    • Enthusiastic and self-starting approach
    • Demonstrable record of lead pass or sales success against a quota
    • Knowledge and experience of networking technologies and overall Solarwinds business environment preferred, but not required
    • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office/Exchange, and SalesForce 
    • The ability to work closely with federal marketing, and the federal sales team in Herndon and remotely with the federal sales team members in Austin
