If so, we’d love to talk to you about an opening that we have for a team leader position in one of our .NET development teams.

     

    As a Sr. Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of full stack .NET developers responsible for SolarWinds’ digital presence across a number of different websites and web applications.  In this position you will partner with product managers, project managers, and other internal partners.  A successful candidate will have strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

     

    The ideal candidate will bring proven experience building  and leading engineering teams. In this role you will:

    • Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
    • Instill best practices for software development, assure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
    • Maintain and improve existing software
    • Prepare technical requirements and software design specifications
    • Report on status of development, quality, operations and system performance to management

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline

    • 5+ years of experience as a software developer
    • 3+ years of experience managing people
    • Professional programming experience with modern object oriented languages

    Preferences: 

    • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
    • Ability to lead a project from scoping through launch
    • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
    • Strong people management and mentoring skills
