SolarWinds is looking for a full stack web developer, to join our Web Marketing team, and grow with us, as we evolve our technology stack, while delivering and supporting multiple highly available websites, connecting our customers to our industry leading products.

Located in Southwest Austin, TX, you’ll get to work alongside a talented and motivated group of engineers and product managers, while interacting with a global team, all committed to building the right solutions and working as one team.

As an engineering team, we value collaboration, creativity and open communication, with an emphasis on making smart decisions and getting better every day.

As a technologist, you’ll be working in a forward looking environment, contributing to a series of web applications and platforms, microservices, enterprise message queuing solutions, user interfaces and data integrations, in a combined effort to provide highly resilient and personalized solutions to connect our products to our customers.

As a person with an interest in the business, you’ll be interpreting the strategy together with your team and the leaders to drive solutions for the long-term value of SolarWinds.

As a human, you’ll be working in a fun environment where teams organize events throughout the year (lunches, weekly tech talks, games and challenges). Additionally, we understand that life happens, and sometimes you need to work from home to meet the cable guy, or take off early to catch your kid’s soccer game.

To be a bit more specific, you will be responsible for the software development and maintenance of our various marketing and customer support websites and platforms (SolarWinds.com, Pingdom.com, AppOptics.com, and many others). As we focus on delivering value each sprint, you’ll continuously see and feel the impact of your contributions.  Solving business problems and related technical challenges on a large scale is a big part of your job. Your responsibilities include everything from implementing new applications and handling data, to debugging and communicating with our business teams and external partners. Being in a small team, you will have a lot of freedom to make your own choices, which comes with a lot of responsibility which you should feel comfortable with.

    • You are comfortable with learning existing platforms, and deep-diving into the details, to help the team plan out enhancements, and implement new features, while challenging the status-quo and engaging others on the team for collaborative approaches to sometimes complex challenges.
    • You have an agile mindset. You are willing to innovate and explore solutions by interpreting the corporate strategy. And you’ll have persistence to stabilize, improve and monitor existing services.
    • You have strong experience in one or more programming languages and remain open to learn new ones (most of our code is in C#, but our technology stack is diverse and we like to choose tech that best solves a need)
    • Preferably, you have experience in a web framework like React, Vue or Angular
    • You are able to fluently write and speak in English, and consider yourself to be a clear communicator, self-aware and considerate of others.
    • You enjoy code reviews, and working with others to help the team deliver great code!

    • You are confident with, or have mastery in most of the following:
      • C#, .Net, SQL Server, MVC, Razor, ASP.NET, JavaScript (ES6 or ES7), CSS3 and HTML5.
      • Working experience in TDD or BDD.
      • Experience with NUnit, MSTest, MSpec or similar unit testing frameworks.
      • Experience with NSubstitute, Rhino Mocks, or similar mocking frameworks.
      • Experience with a source control tool, like Git, SVN, TFS, or similar.
      • Entity Framework / LINQ

    • You are familiar with some, or all, of these:
      • TypeScript, SASS, jQuery, REST, Microservices, SOA, Gulp, WebPack, Messaging Concepts, Azure Hosting, Web Farms, Team City.
      • Working in Agile Teams, comprised of cross-functional roles, capable of delivering solutions as a group.
      • Experience working on, or in, Content Management Systems such as Sitecore and Wordpress.

    We offer:

    • All you need to get your job done: From a competitive salary and benefits, to technology and training.
    • A fun and collaborative environment, and the ability to impact our solutions.
    • Free Lunch twice a week.
    • Onsite Gym and Cafe
    • Comfortable and Modern working spaces
