The Senior Product Manager is responsible for strategic market analysis, competitive research, and defining a product roadmap that will drive aggressive product revenue growth. You will define and execute on a product business plan and work with product marketing on GTM activities.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record understanding dynamic markets, making plans that generate results, and working with the leadership team to align execution to market opportunity. SolarWinds emphasizes strong growth and profitability; therefore, the ideal candidate must be proficient in making trade off decisions that maximize growth and return on investment. This leadership position requires a blend of technical and marketing knowledge, business acumen, and people skills.
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT/MARKETING PHILOSOPHY
You are truly the General Manager for your product. This means it's up to you to define a successful business strategy and product roadmap, to work with Engineering and others to execute on that strategy. You are also responsible for evangelizing your products, defining roadmaps, working with the Product Owner on breaking down user stories, delivering webinars, conducting analyst briefings, and enabling sales.
Unique business model and well defined processes have proven to be tremendously successful resulting in continued hyper-growth for the company. It is critical to understand how SolarWinds goes to market and our sales model to create a business plan that will be successful. This is why this role is challenging, if you try to work how you have in previous companies you will not be successful.
You will be working with a tightly coupled cross-functional team of highly talented and experienced professionals. There is a high focus on execution and organization, but we don't let formal process get in the way of opportunity or experimentation.
SolarWinds has too many customers to visit each one. To reach our end users we rely on a combination of phone interviews, web meetings, surveys, and community interactions at industry events.
Rapid organic and inorganic growth means you are never bored or "stuck" with the same product or technology forever. There are always new and interesting problems to solve and new products to build or buy. You will be responsible for defining the right product mix to best capture market opportunity and demand.
