    SolarWinds Cloud competes in three markets: Application Performance and Infrastructure Monitoring, Digital Experience Monitoring and Log Management. With our current offerings, SolarWinds Cloud is the first vendor to cover all cloud monitoring capabilities: Metrics, Traces and Logs. This combined with extended offerings for monitoring end-user experience, positions the business unit for explosive growth in the years ahead.


    VP of Marketing - SolarWinds Cloud will be a key member of the executive team and will own Cloud global marketing planning and execution including digital marketing, creative, content, web, sales enablement, brand, customer community development, campaign management and launches improvements.  The position will report directly to SolarWinds Cloud business GM with a dotted line into the CMO of SolarWinds.  This individual will manage and continue to build out a team of Cloud/SaaS marketers and interact regularly with the global SolarWinds marketing team and leadership.


    The VP of Cloud Marketing will:


    • Drive digital marketing initiatives and campaigns, focusing on a combination of immediate revenue opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline.
    • Be the expert on all personas and use cases of Cloud buyers, who they are and how they think, talk, and buy, with a deep understanding of their buying criteria used to solve IT problems.
    • Drive understanding of the customer experience and buying behavior to generate demand (globally) through to buyer purchase interest and fuel year-over-year revenue growth. This includes responsibility for global bookings performance for all Cloud products as success in this role will be measured by growth in revenue acceleration.
    • Be responsible for Cloud positioning, targeting new customer acquisition. This position will be directly responsible for trial and bookings performance across Cloud’s product portfolio.
    • Develop compelling content and messaging related to how Cloud’s products solve problems and partner with marketing and demand generation to create campaigns that resonate with IT and Dev Ops professionals. Create and translate the marketing content for business and technology audiences.
    • Craft messaging and positioning for Cloud, clearly articulating the value proposition, benefits and technical requirements for each customer segment and buyer profile in a way that resonates with IT and Dev Ops professionals.
    • Work collaboratively with the SolarWinds’ Global Marketing team to create and execute a unified brand message. Communicate the value proposition of the products, platforms and solutions to inside sales teams and develop collateral and other sales toolkits.  Influence sales enablement through content, training, and programs.
    • Strengthen a collaborative cross-functional culture and successfully influence other business functions and teams, including executive management. Drive tight alignment with engineering and sales organizations.  Collaborate with product management and development teams to bring new innovations to market.  Work closely with product strategy, analyst outreach and corporate marketing functions.
    • Develop and motivate the product marketing team who are responsible for maximizing revenue, adoption and utilization of the entire portfolio of Cloud’s products. This will involve evaluating and strengthening the team, as required, to solidify succession plans and enhance capabilities to meet strategic and operating objectives as well as recruiting and developing highly effective leaders across marketing disciplines.


    • 10+ years of well-rounded marketing leadership experience with recent and significant experience in a leadership position for a growth company of significant size. Emphasis on a digital marketing approach that distinguishes SolarWinds from competition in the minds of buyers is critical.
    • Experience leading global marketing teams spanning digital (SEM, SEO, multi-touch attribution), demand generation, creative campaigns, content, brand, etc.
    • A proven track record of success leading business and go-to-market strategies with in-depth knowledge of leading-edge market product trends, requirements, and competitive dynamics.
    • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of understanding dynamic markets, making recommendations that generate results, and working across functions, including sales and demand generation, to align execution to market demand.
    • SolarWinds emphasizes strong growth and profitability; therefore, the executive must be proficient in P&L and budget management, and making tradeoff recommendations that yield the maximum return on investment.
    • Experience managing a globally distributed team across a wide range of defined yet complimentary products.
    • Has delivered a differentiated experience in a crowded market. Proven track record in crafting compelling positioning and thought leadership content.
    • Previous successful experience with a high growth organization, and the necessary sense of agility and urgency.
    • Must have a demonstrated ability to be a constant force for innovation and improvement in the development and marketing of world class products. The ability to attack well-known problems with creativity is key.
    • Technically competent and able to understand SolarWinds’ products and customers and their buying behavior.
    • Highly analytical and skilled in the use of spreadsheets, reporting, and marketing technology
    • Experience managing budgets effectively, setting up metrics, and improving business processes.
    • Ability to adapt and leverage experience in a dynamic, high growth environment.
    • Track record balancing the conceptualization of strategic initiatives with tactical execution
    • Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred.
