SolarWinds is looking for a Marketing Manager to join the SolarWinds Cloud team, a rapidly growing SaaS business unit uniquely positioned to disrupt the cloud monitoring market. The ideal Marketing Manager enjoys the energy of a start-up and the challenge of growing traffic at double- to triple-digit rates for our Papertrail product. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Cloud Marketing.


The successful candidate knows SaaS marketing best practices and can articulate a digital marketing strategy, using both internal and external resources to scale leadflow for Papertrail without compromising lead quality. The role spans all digital channels, including content marketing, paid SEM and display, SEO, social media, and more. SolarWinds emphasizes strong growth and profitability, so the candidate must be able to prioritize which plays will maximize return, track daily performance, and report on results.


  • 3-5 years of digital marketing experience
  • Proven experience with building and executing a digital strategy to generate demand against monthly goals, using both direct-response and awareness tactics
  • Hands-on experience with SEM, SEO, social media, display, and email marketing tools/platforms
  • Ability to work with remote and local team members across the company—Product, Creative, Legal, Sales—to drive organizational change
  • Proficient Powerpoint and Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, graphing, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and advocate ideas to management crisply and accurately
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree       


  • Knowledge of cloud Software and SaaS a plus
  • Proficiency with SEO fundamentals
  • Seasoned experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Microsoft Bing Ads
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing platforms and best practices
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
