The SolarWinds Director of Marketing, Americas will be responsible for the North America and Latin America go to market strategy.  This role will encompass design & implementation of a comprehensive multi-channel marketing plan that results in the growth of demand, sales pipeline & revenue. Serving as a marketing lead and point of accountability to global headquarters in the US – this position bears responsibility for driving business results, management of marketing functions / resources and organizational effectiveness. Success in this position will require someone with an entrepreneurial spirit that is willing to be disruptive and try new things but also manage resources judiciously and with a persistent focus on business impact.


The Director will be a core member and trusted advisor to both the Americas’ Sales and Global Marketing leadership teams.


  • Leadership of the North American and Latin American Marketing teams; setting team strategy, staffing for scale and developing the skills and career paths of individuals on the team.
  • Delivery of quarterly channel / direct marketing plans in coordination with sales leaders.
  • Accountability to meeting/exceeding attainment of the demand generation goals and responsible for the day-to-day execution & optimization to deliver same.
  • Ability to support the SolarWinds sales process and a desire to drive the revenue number.
  • Developing a deterministic model built for investment, return, and attribution of various marketing programs in North America and Latin America.
  • Building campaigns that capture demand for both net new prospects, customers and cross-sell to existing customers.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with sales, product marketing, product management and corporate marketing, to align SolarWinds positioning & go-to-market within the region.
  • Effective utilization and localization of SolarWinds marketing technologies.  
  • Partnering closely with the web teams to ensure optimization of web properties.


  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • 7 - 10 years of tech / software marketing experience with a leadership emphasis to hire, inspire, motivate and relate to a matrixed global team.
  • Working knowledge of regional demand generation, partner marketing, channel and direct selling models, executing programs that increase prospect & customer engagement, improve sales pipeline, drive revenue and optimize the marketing budget.
  • Experience using a range of digital marketing mix techniques to drive awareness through to conversion. Deep understanding of demand funnel behaviour, optimization and performance measurement.
  • Hands-on use and understanding of contemporary marketing automation, CRM and analytics platforms, such as Marketo,, Tableau and Adobe Target.
  • Experience with and understanding of the latest in demand gen technologies and marketing operations functions (i.e. lead scoring, nurturing).
  • Results driven, highly motivated, quick learning individual with a sense of urgency who thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to leverage data to drive strategy and decision-making.
  • Detailed management of demand and budget forecasting across multiple geos & channels.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills to executive audiences.
  • Knowledge of the IT buyer personas and working knowledge of related technologies.
