Are you looking for a unique opportunity to deliver engaging training content and interact with the talented customer base of a fast-growing mid-size technology company?  As a Technical Trainer, you’ll be responsible for delivering hands-on courseware that gets customers up to speed with our latest features, with substantial role visibility both inside and out of our dynamic team. It requires a blend of technical and presentation skills with an engaging personality and focus on results.


We are glad to consider candidates who have not been formal classroom trainers, provided you have experience with getting users up and running with new technology.  If you have a technical background in IT infrastructure and network management technologies, perhaps as a Sales Engineer or in a support role, but have developed or presented technical training to get a team up to speed quickly, you should consider being a trainer for us.  SolarWinds is a dynamic company without layers of overhead, and you’ll have the easy access to engineering, marketing and other departments to ensure you can change the lives of IT administrators with great training content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training, in a variety of formats to our Customers, Partners, and internal audiences.
  • Lead development of new training content in cooperation with cross-functional technical teams from Engineering and Support.
  • Maintain supporting training manuals and student courseware to reflect product changes and feedback from Engineering and Support.
  • Develop expertise with featured SolarWinds products.
  • Identify gaps in training through auditing of existing knowledge.
  • Maximize training quality with surveys and other student feedback metrics.
  • Reporting to management on training challenges and gap analysis.
  • General ad-hoc training projects.

Qualifications

  • Technical expertise: strong working knowledge of networks, systems, and virtualization technology
  • Solid background in Technical Training with authentic presentation skills.
  • Previous experience with training course development for technical products a plus.
  • Demonstrated customer service and business skills.
  • Previous experience of mentoring and coaching in a Technical Support environment.
  • Passion for technology with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and network management technologies
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to interact with students with accuracy and professionalism
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems, Databases, Virtualization, Storage and Log and Event Management Solutions an advantage.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline to work effectively in a high-paced environment.
  • Learning Management System Experience an advantage.
  • Flexible working hours to support global teams.

Preferences: 

3+ years experience delivering technical training courses (classroom or virtual training delivery)

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
