  • Overview

    Our Austin, TX office is currently seeking to hire a Premier Account Executive. The PAE is accountable for achieving and exceeding Pan-SolarWinds revenue objectives for the assigned accounts. The PAE's market/territory consists of North America, East or West.


    This role is responsible for the brand and reputation of SolarWinds and all SolarWinds portfolio of networking products, services and solutions in the assigned Premier accounts.  Premier Accounts represent our largest and most complex Strategic customers across all industry segments. As the PAE you will work to identify and communicate to the Sales Director the need for appropriate market resources to bring winning expertise to each solution and point opportunity in assigned account to achieve and exceed SolarWinds sales expectations.


    Candidates for the PAE role must work out of a SolarWinds office.



    • Achieve and exceed the SolarWinds sales revenue goal in assigned accounts. Accountable working within assigned sales operational budgets.
    • Work with the Sales Director to translate vision and strategy into effective sales actions to maximize profitable revenue across all SolarWinds products, and solutions in assigned accounts
    • Partner with the highest level of decision makers within assigned customers to present broad SolarWinds solutions that include cross-selling across multiple IT disciplines.
    • Identify solution and point opportunities in each assigned account and mobilize Market resources to bring SolarWinds expertise to each opportunity to win the business.
    • Develop a quarterly sales plan and reseller mapping plan in support of organizational goals and objectives.
    • Leverage Salesforce.com to present pipeline reports showing secured sales, potential sales, and sales opportunity areas implementing the use of strategic sales analytics in assigned accounts.
    • Build relationships with other SolarWinds divisions and conduct regular reviews and updates required to maximize revenue in assigned accounts.


    • Must be incredibly self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate team members by example
    • Ability to understand sales numbers and manage to daily sales metrics
    • Ability to make adjustments to maintain deal velocity and momentum
    • Ability to understand customer/prospect corporate IT goals and initiatives’ and align SolarWinds’ solutions to those initiatives
    • Ability to adapt to changing business issues and requirements and be creative in suggesting new approaches
    • Ability to build and present Executive level presentations and deliver them in person or via web-meetings
    • Ability to travel (infrequently) and present in person to prospects and customers


    Experience Required

    • Minimum of 6 years in a quota carrying sales role with demonstrated achievement
    • Minimum of 6 years in selling enterprise class software to large corporations, both inside sales and field experience
    • Proven track record in prospecting and closing fortune based company deals
    • Proven track record in managing large complex deals with multi-national companies
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment



    • BS/BA preferred.
